Verno House Budapest: Where light invites life into an elegant urban sanctuary
When Lumoconcept was invited to collaborate on Verno House Budapest, we knew we were joining something rare—a project where architecture, conceptual thinking, exquisite aesthetics and hospitality were genuinely speaking to one another.
Working alongside a respectable and detail-oriented architect and a contractor genuinely committed to honoring the building’s 19th-century history, we had the creative opportunity to design elegant and memorable lighting fixtures.
Light as storytelling
The soaring atrium in the lobby makes the first impression: an urban jungle. Dozens of custom golden leaf-shaped pendants that float overhead like captured sunlight filtering through a rainforest canopy, shimmering delicately as guests enter. It’s the kind of lighting installation that earns attention in a very organic way: guests photograph without quite knowing why.
Great hospitality design is about coherence. That’s why we threaded custom standing lamps through the lobby to create intimate pockets of warmth, installed their wall-mounted sisters in Flava Restaurant to tie spaces together, and placed banana leaf-shaped pendants in premium rooms - giving each guest their own private sanctuary.
Why branded lighting matters
Lighting in hospitality does more than illuminate – it tells guests what kind of place they’re in, what they should feel, what they’ll remember.
We believe that if our lighting works it will show.
And it does show. Specifically in guests reviews. We ourselves were extremely surprised to see that 30% of guest reviews were generating images having our lightings in the centre of composition. Compliments about “attention to details,” “amazing design,” spaces that feel “close to perfection.” They are talking about the cumulative emotional effect of the spaces designed with intention. Our custom installations contribute to that sense of care, becoming part of what guests capture, mention in reviews, and what separates good properties from unforgettable ones.
Verno House has earned a 9.8 location rating and consistent praise for its atmosphere. That’s what happens when everyone involved commits to the same vision of authenticity and craft, understanding that great hospitality design creates environments where people feel genuinely cared for.
At Lumoconcept, we believe every project deserves this level of thought, because spaces designed with integrity are the ones people remember.
