GINKGO

First step of a long journey: the lamps are parts of a collection under development. We looked for materials and shapes matching the atmosphere of the old upper middle class apartments of Budapest, skipping any retro or antique elements, and providing a fully contemporary tone.

Converting the classical chandelier heritage into present-day terms was a great challenge. We kept elegance, centrality, axiality and the fine materials (partially, brass), but instead of ornaments we used minimalist forms, and gave the object its weight with enlarged surfaces.

While the spotlights light up the walls from the ceiling and show the depth of the entire space, they also serve as a contrast to the decorative lamps in center.
